Phil, Personally I find that a difficult question. On the rivers I fish I don't need to hurl leads any distance. I have cast 6oz leads out 30 yards or so without feeling like I was pushing it but Im really not great on knowing what a rod is capable of or not.

As I say Phil, I absolutely love this rod. The only criticism is that the top ring on the butt section and lower ring on the top section don't align. By this, I am trying to say, that when the rod is broken down with the reel, line and rig still on, the two sections aren't even. Hope that...
