As ever, thank-you everybody for your contributions and recommendations.
I had never heard of sticky powder or the Horlicks method so will investigate.
I have ordered the Guru green cati.
Thanks again
Hi Guys,
Looking for recommendations please.
A catapult that can fire maggots out to the far side of the river.
Tried Drennan feeder pult and pellet pult but can't get the distance.
Thanks in anticipation
Phil,
Personally I find that a difficult question. On the rivers I fish I don't need to hurl leads any distance.
I have cast 6oz leads out 30 yards or so without feeling like I was pushing it but Im really not great on knowing what a rod is capable of or not.
As I say Phil, I absolutely love this rod. The only criticism is that the top ring on the butt section and lower ring on the top section don't align.
By this, I am trying to say, that when the rod is broken down with the reel, line and rig still on, the two sections aren't even. Hope that...
Hi Phil,
I have a pair of these 2lbTC. Bought the first one about 3 years a go and loved it. Managed to finally get a second one last year.
I fish the Hants Avon and Dorset Stour and it's perfect for these rivers. Beautiful through action.
When I was looking for info on the rod, Steve...
Thank-you to everybody that has contributed to this thread.
I've looked at the various suggestions and have opted for the Cotswold pouches.
Thanks again

Looking for a recommendation please guys.
Protective pouches/covers for 41/2" centre pins.
The reels won't be left on the rods but chucked into a rucksack after use.
Thank-you.
You are never going to find a rod that is great for roach and barbel.
You need to decide what you are fishing for Lee. If I am fishing for roach Acolyte Ultra, chub Acolyte plus, barbel Acolyte Specimen.
Just piggy-backing off this thread, I have a number of isotopes but the clear rubber "tubing" that they fit into before being pushed onto an adaptor has either split or been attacked by mice.
Can anybody recommend a specific product that I can buy to replace these perished rubber sleeves?
I...
Acolytes are fantastic rods, I love 'em but it's almost an occupational hazard that you will break the tips. Think I'm on my third for the Ultra.
The last tip broke trying to cast a big waggler into a head wind
Hi Martin,
I don't really know that area but I'm pretty sure the carriers and river are part of the Britford Fishery controlled by London Anglers Association.
Look up the Britford fishery info
just thought this was quite interesting.
I have been contemplating buying a copy of Eel Chronicles by Steve Ricketts.
found it rather interesting that the first seven reviews (all 5/5 apart from one 4/5) were attributed to the following contributors:
Mrs. A - 5/5
J D Staples - 5/5
