    Alarmed!

I use every method that I can to find out what's going on out in the river. I compulsively watch the rod tip, use a bait runner and often sit with my hand on the rod which can indicate subtle knocks and plucks. I think an alarm saved my bacon last September when fishing an evening session. I...

Hi Guys, Looking for recommendations please. A catapult that can fire maggots out to the far side of the river. Tried Drennan feeder pult and pellet pult but can't get the distance. Thanks in anticipation

    Harrison 12’ 2lb MUR Rod

So, in answer to your question, I would have no fear in chucking out 3.5oz leads

    Harrison 12’ 2lb MUR Rod

Phil, Personally I find that a difficult question. On the rivers I fish I don't need to hurl leads any distance. I have cast 6oz leads out 30 yards or so without feeling like I was pushing it but Im really not great on knowing what a rod is capable of or not.

    Harrison 12’ 2lb MUR Rod

As I say Phil, I absolutely love this rod. The only criticism is that the top ring on the butt section and lower ring on the top section don't align. By this, I am trying to say, that when the rod is broken down with the reel, line and rig still on, the two sections aren't even. Hope that...

    Harrison 12’ 2lb MUR Rod

Hi Phil, I have a pair of these 2lbTC. Bought the first one about 3 years a go and loved it. Managed to finally get a second one last year. I fish the Hants Avon and Dorset Stour and it's perfect for these rivers. Beautiful through action. When I was looking for info on the rod, Steve...

Looking for a recommendation please guys. Protective pouches/covers for 41/2" centre pins. The reels won't be left on the rods but chucked into a rucksack after use. Thank-you.

    New record

Can only see the trend being upwards for all barbel Alex with the increasing number of mild, wet winters.

    Trotting rod

You are never going to find a rod that is great for roach and barbel. You need to decide what you are fishing for Lee. If I am fishing for roach Acolyte Ultra, chub Acolyte plus, barbel Acolyte Specimen.

    Isotopes

Excellent! Thank-you Richard. I had looked but not sure what to order. Much appreciated

    Isotopes

Just piggy-backing off this thread, I have a number of isotopes but the clear rubber "tubing" that they fit into before being pushed onto an adaptor has either split or been attacked by mice. Can anybody recommend a specific product that I can buy to replace these perished rubber sleeves? I...

    Acolyte users??

Acolytes are fantastic rods, I love 'em but it's almost an occupational hazard that you will break the tips. Think I'm on my third for the Ultra. The last tip broke trying to cast a big waggler into a head wind

    Rivers in and around Salisbury

Oh, by the way it would be predominantly the Hampshire Avon although I believe the Wylie joins the Avon at Salisbury

    Rivers in and around Salisbury

Hi Martin, I don't really know that area but I'm pretty sure the carriers and river are part of the Britford Fishery controlled by London Anglers Association. Look up the Britford fishery info
