    Posting rods

I did use TNT at one time, they were good. Now it is just Parcelforce I use, up to 1.5mtrs it's about £9 with £100 insurance (can be increased for a price), over 1,5mtrs it rockets up to £30 odd . If using other couriers, make sure they cover fishing rods, many don't, Parcelforce do. Parcelforce...

    River Mole

I know that bit, under the road by Manor pond. Still owned by CALPAC as far as I know. Cobham Court waters were the other side of Portsmouth Road and were about 7 miles in length. Great fishing, but long walks, and parking got a bit of a problem, hence the lack of use and the club dropping it.

    River Mole

I used to fish at Cobham years ago and had some good barbel, not sure if they are about in the numbers they were about 10-15 years ago, and Dorking and Brockham never seemed to have the numbers they had at Cobham. Does anyone know who controls the fishing at Cobham now, as Cobham Court merged...

Daiwa tournament pro 13/15 match rod

I have never used any of their gear, but James Robbins has some cadence videos where he is trotting for barbel, they have a good range of rods and seem well liked.

    Your first barbel photo

My first barbel was from The Royalty, around 1981, 10lb 6oz. Picture was enlarged and framed (hence glare).

    Whats your PB?

Barbel for me have been elusive, but large. PB is 15.10 from the River Mole, my first barbel was 10.06 from The Royalty in 1980, the Mole one was 30 odd years later. Match fishing was the main thing for me during those 2.

    Barbel fishing in Surrey

I was a member at Cobham Court for many years, they have quite a few miles of the Mole, but I think they have been amalgamated into Feltham & Twickenham Piscatorials.

    Korum rods

Preston and Korum change their rods and reels regularly, possibly because they start using a new manufacturer. I had some twin tip plus rods, hadn't had them long and decided if I bought 2 new butt sections I would have 4 rods. Tried Preston and they told me no parts available although they were...

I bought a pair of Mivardi Kappa 4000's, nice reels, but a bit small for barbel, will be using them for bream and tench.
