Thanks for the advice guys, looks like I'll be reversing the braid and re-newing the mono..

Mainly fish the Kennet, only had a couple of dozen outins over the last couple of seasons, so not had a lot of use, just not too sure if the braid or line would deteriorate on the reel??

Just having a general 'spring clean and service' and was wondering if I should re-spool my reels with new braid and mono? The braid's been on for around 3 seasons, and the mono for two, any advice would be much appreciated...

Mark Tunley builds a great 11'6" 1.5tc Stalking rod on a Harrison blank. A fantastic rod with a sensitive feel, but plenty of back bone when needed.

Cheers guys, some great alternatives to play with. Graham, you still using the same mixed we used when we was on the bank a couple of years back? Thought you might have a new magic recipe you'd like to share!!!

Any suggestions on a decent feeder mix for small rivers? I've been using all different 'off the shelf' mixes over the past couple of years, but woul like to stick to a proven recipe. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'm after some good recommendations for a weekend away in mid November on the Hants Avon or Stour, or somewhere on the Wye. I would preferably like accommodation within walking distance of the banks, any suggestions would be much appreciated. Paul

I'm with you Haydn... My missus bought me a Pure Talk Sport...It's just a bit bigger than a mobile phone, has a built in re-chargeable battery which lasts for at least 3 good sessions, and has a crystal clear reception. I snapped the ariel off whilst packing up, back last year, I emailed Pure...

The gear ratio's the same, so unless you intend travelling very light I don't see it being a major problem Steve, It will certainly be a lighter option to your Pike reel. Paul
