Had some fox digitals years ago. After 2 years they started weighing all over the shop. Weigh a fish 3 times and get 3 wildly different weights. Contacted fox and they said I’d have to post them to them with a cheque for £35. Decided to just put that money into a new set of dials instead.
Had no issues with mine other than one time I had the runner on and got into a fish, lifted the rod up and flicked the runner off and it didn’t deactivate. I tried reeling and the line kept peeling off. In the end I flicked the bait runner back on then off again and it disengaged. Only happened...
I use size 4 Nash claw pulled through the meat with a long needle and twisted 90 degrees with a bit of grass to stop it pulling straight out. You’re never going to be able to cast it too far but as long as you’re gentle on the cast it won’t come off. If I’m happy with where I’m cast I’ll leave...
Agree really. If you’ve made the effort to go to the river you might as well fish. I generally go by the rule of if I want to fish and the air temp when I get there is going to be 3 or 4 degrees or above I’ll go. I don’t mind if it’s going to get colder while I’m there I’ll just pack up if I get...
Personally I think if your using halibut pellets then halibut pellets are halibut pellets no matter which brand you buy. Never noticed any difference in catch rates whatever brand I use. I tend to use robin red pellets the last few years but more often than not I’ll use a big chunk of meat...
Can remember fishing the teme years ago with a couple of mates and as we was walking back to the car after it got dark we came across a couple of guys hiding behind a tree on the bank surrounded by cows lol. One of my mates was from a farming family who just laughed and marched straight through...
Problem with the building trade is it got saturated with foreign labour that kept the prices low for so long. A couple of years after the brexit vote there was noticeably fewer foreigners on site and prices went up a bit as people couldn’t get the labour but even still what we get paid today is...
Got a couple. Used to take one floater fishing so I could have a sit down if I wanted whilst travelling as light as I could. Couldn’t sit on it clipped up like a seat used to just have it flat. Now I just use one to put my bag on if it’s muddy. Has also been used as an emergency landing mat when...
One thing I would add on the nature side is I love seeing all the different animals barring rats and otters. The mice I can handle although I don’t like being sat shoulder to shoulder in undergrowth when it gets dark and they’re russling about right next to you. Otters I don’t like for obvious...
Considering 2 of the last 3 seasons have started with a run of 20+ blanks for me there’s definitely more than just catching fish that keeps me going. I could go fish easier stretches just to get a bend in the rod but I like how quiet it generally is where I fish. Plus the thought that my next...
Gutted Cliff. Saw a video on twitter earlier where a guy was doing a coin flip at the start of what looked like an Aussie league game or something and he did his hamstring just flipping a coin lol
