Yes Rob they were very good and a real players rod with a good progressive action.
I then bought a pair of Hardy Marksman 11 ft 6 Avon's , and they were okay when the bottom 3rd of the rod started to work.
But the top 2/3rds were way to soft...
If you find another I'd be very interested, as I'm...
Wowsers, I had a pair of these before I moved onto all the Hardy range in 2006,
If I remember correctly they were a very through action , a proper players rod, and they caught me plenty of chub and barbel on the Derbyshire Derwent..
They were purchased from tansley car boot sale for 30 quid ...
I know we all have our own variations of high water rigs ..
Just thought I'd share mine
Starting with 2 tungsten stops , 600mm of tungsten rig tubing to a tulip of your choice with a run ring for your lead ,feeder etc.
Down to a qc swivol and a coated braid hooklink around 600mm though I do...

If you're looking for a shorter rod , maybe 10ft , look no further than the 2.75 torrix, it's great for upto 25yd lobs with smaller to medium sized deads..
It's got a mid to through sort of action with a softish tip.
Great crossover from Zander to pike rod ,imo...
Im also a advocate for 30 mm up to 10mm anti frap on any barbel rod of 2.25 and up to 2.75. .
Not only for casting performances but weed clearance on the tip also.
Also a big fan of the alps cwg ai on all my rods including float rods the rubber insert is so comfortable....
I don't think you will find a specific line reducer.
Best too wind all your new line onto your spool , top it off with backing line , counting how many yards you use
Then load that onto your other spool.
Wind on said amount of backing on first spool and wind on your new 200m💪🏿
