I have the same as yours, you may need to hold the centre screw with a flathead screwdriver and then twist the drag knob. Basically if the centre screw moves with the drag knob then its been over tightened. I'll go and check a bit later.
Just an FYI, I broke the avon section of my Series 7 last year. I rang Drennan who confirmed that spare tips were available but I would have to go through a tackle shop to get one. I got in touch with my local tackle shop, who did the necessary, and a week or so later I went to pick it up.
Yep, I have them in my 8000 GTEs that I use for pike fishing. I haven't used the reels in anger since I had them serviced, but the drag feels smooth and I'm sure the rear drag requires less turns to go from almost nothing to locked up but that could just be my perception.
I have this one. Which I bought to replace a Korum Transition bag. Its great, plenty of bits to hang things from and is fully waterproof I believe.
Mil-Tec bag
I have a week on the Loire every year to fish for carp and catfish but have also caught barbel as well as chub, roach, bream and crucian carp. Haven't seen any barbel over 5lbs yet though.
If you take a walk across the bridge at Beaugency you can normally see loads of barbel.
