    Small leads and short hooklinks

I agree but some say that the splash of the lead/feeder actually attracts the fish and draws them into the baited area.🤔. Obviously works with carp….🙄 Dave

    Rivers I have fished

I guess I’ve mostly been a stay at home angler, as I have never strayed far from my Hampshire home. Here’s my list: Hampshire Avon Dorset Stour Test Itchen Frome (Dorset) Kennet Blackwater (Hants - tributary of the Test) Blackwater (Loddon tributary) Kentish Stour Beult (Kent) There may have...

    Winter Grayling mission

It’s a shame that Dorchester & District AS stopped issuing their cut price winter tickets in 2023. An attractively priced means of accessing some reasonable stretches of the Frome from October onwards. Sadly, no more.🙄 Dave

    Cows

I’ve had my share of incidents with cows (and horses) over the years including a very close shave with a charging bull (my fault - taking a short cut) and being surrounded by a very frisky herd of heifers. I now avoid fishing in any field where animals are present - it may mean that I miss out...

    River Nene Decimation

Because they released the seals into the river rather than taking them back to the sea for release…..😳 Dave

    Car boot buy

Beachcasting….. How long would it take to reel back in after a 100 yard + cast?!?!😳 Dave

    Rod insurance recommendations

If you’re an Angling Trust member, they have linked up with the Insurance Emporium to provide specialist tackle insurance. Might be worth a look but bear in mind that their policies are based on lunar months so you pay every four weeks rather than monthly. Dave

What the hell is wrong with people 😡😡

I must say you do wonder when a 12 year old girl and 14 year old boy can abuse and kill a defenceless 80 year old pensioner, out walking his dog….. What is this country coming to…???🤬 Dave

    Hampshire Venues?

As mentioned by Ralph Harris earlier, both Ringwood and Christchurch clubs have some good gravel pit/lake fishing in the Ringwood area (mainly on the north side of Ringwood, off the A338). Mainly carp oriented but also offer opportunities for tench, bream etc. Eastleigh & District AC also have...

    Another tackle shop going

Seems like that won’t be known until the end of the season, Joe. I guess it depends on whether anyone does take over the business but the Water Company will have some say in the matter whatever the future of the shop. Dave

    Floats for trotting for grayling?

Andrew Burt on here sells floats that may well suit your requirements. They are certainly visible at distance and also feature interchangeable tips to suit different conditions. Dave
