The proposal on the HA in Salisbury is quite high up the river and potentially less susceptible to pollution than the middle and lower reaches. Every little helps though, I guess and it may provide a better idea of where any pollution is coming from.

I agree but some say that the splash of the lead/feeder actually attracts the fish and draws them into the baited area.🤔. Obviously works with carp….🙄

It’s a shame that Dorchester & District AS stopped issuing their cut price winter tickets in 2023. An attractively priced means of accessing some reasonable stretches of the Frome from October onwards. Sadly, no more.🙄

I’ve had my share of incidents with cows (and horses) over the years including a very close shave with a charging bull (my fault - taking a short cut) and being surrounded by a very frisky herd of heifers. I now avoid fishing in any field where animals are present - it may mean that I miss out...
If you’re an Angling Trust member, they have linked up with the Insurance Emporium to provide specialist tackle insurance. Might be worth a look but bear in mind that their policies are based on lunar months so you pay every four weeks rather than monthly.
