I would have to suggest using a true through action rod when using braid. A rod with an arresting point half way up the rod will put unecessary pressure on the hook hold.
That is just my view.

Good luck with it mate. I have to be honest and say I never had as much fun making bait than when I was buying ingredients to put together your own recipes. They all caught fish and those with a bit of liver and krill did well.
I wouldn't be surprised if AA Baits Squid and Octopus is the same as...
Ditto that Richard. As soon as I saw the name Adrian Williams I wondered how long ago this thread was.
I have a couple of rods that came from Paul Boote's stable so to speak and heaven knows they may 30 year old blanks and technology, but not sure there is much around to challenge them today.

If action alone were to be my holy grail, the Kev Baines 3 piece Specialist would have me more than satisfied, and it is still to this day with the memory of seeing and feeling that rod...
I have a couple of the lighter Interceptors, made for me by MT - a couple of beautiful rods they are, but I would enjoy something even a little softer.
