I didn’t realise drennan had stopped making their medium black and blue sleeves. Went to buy one of those originally at Amglimg direct and was told they were discontinued. Was sure i had one somewhere but must of sold it. Not keen on the tacklebox ones they’ve just made them so slim it’s too...
Does anyone make an 11 foot rod sleeve? The drennan medium sleeves used to fit 11 foot rods but can find those anywhere. Don’t fancy the price of the cotswold aquarius one, which seems to be the only one i can find at the moment.
Just seen Andy post this on facebook as know they’re popular on here
I have been given the opportunity to get my hands on some 10’6” blanks similar to the blanks I used for my Teme rods (Dave Mason rods). What I need to do is find out if there is enough interest in them for it to be worth my...
At the rip old age of 43 i just can’t sit on a bucket anymore within 5 minutes my lower back has had enough, with or without a cushion. Always have to have my 20 year old jrc roamer seat (3kg) with me which i slid my korum fast mat into. Have not found a bag yet that beats the original roving...
I’m not a big QD fan. I used to like them years ago but now the newer QD reels especially i’ve found shimano are too quick, there appears to be around 1/4 of a turn from freespool to locked up on my Power aeros 1400 that i use for carping and the 5500 CI4 xtc’s i used to have, which i’ve now...
Ali has aimed 95% of his marketing at the new anglers who fished over stocked puddles and have probably never tried any other type of fishing. The thing that i can’t stand is all the complete backside kissing he gets for every post which seems to be from people in their 50’s upwards. It’s like...
The action is a lot more through action which i prefer especially on the kennet, can really lock the rod up and pressure fish away from snags and i just have a lot more confidence that i won’t get a hook pull under maximum pressure. Also find the tip a bit more sensitive than a torrix.
Personally preferred the freespirit barbel seeker 11 foot blanks, had the 1.5, 1.75 and 2lb torrix blank and a custom made barbel seeker is cheaper than a off the shelf one for some reason.
