Combi Rig - loop to loop or albrighton?

Thanks all - lots of great advice! I've just made a donation for the server costs - it's exactly this type of help that the members willingly share that makes it all worthwhile! Once the weather returns to normal I might even get a chance to try some of the options out!

Combi Rig - loop to loop or albrighton?

That sounds interesting. I've crimped rigs before for carp. I was thinking 0.5mm crimp to a fluoro of around 0.45. Will any decent fluro do of that diameter or do you need to buy one of those with the 'carp tax' applied?

Combi Rig - loop to loop or albrighton?

Thanks Jon. I always use a PVA mesh bag that I thread onto the line with a baiting needle to eliminate tangles. It would be easier to use loop to loop I wondering if there was much difference on knot strength compared to the albrighton knot?

Combi Rig - loop to loop or albrighton?

I'm going to use combi rigs this season and I've tied a few up using the albrighton knot with fluorocarbon and soft braid. I did see a drennan YouTube video where the angler was connecting the two materials loop to loop using a figure of eight knot. This is obviously far simpler, quicker and...

Bit of a 'back to basics' kinda question....

Hi Julian. I got a bargain off eBay as I wasn't sure how much I'd use it. I ended up with the Pro + - WiFi connection, can save maps, decent range - worked for me.

Bit of a 'back to basics' kinda question....

I've been using a deeper and would definitely invest. I did for the reasons you've mentioned and it's eye opening. Finder a deeper hole or the drop offs in an otherwise featureless stretch has been prolific for me this season. Plus if you fish the same swims you can keep notes so it's often a...

Quick release connectors with a larger thread

Thanks everyone for your comments. The image hopefully gives an idea, it looks approx twice the size of a standard thread. The legs are really solid and obviously larger than a standard bankstick so happy with the set up, just a bit if a faff unscrewing the legs.

Quick release connectors with a larger thread

I've been using a Daiwa rod pod recently as the Thames has been on red boards for about the last 3 weeks. The pod is great but unscrewing the legs is somewhat arduous and I wondered if quick release connectors came in larger threads? I did search online but couldn't find any results but I'm...

    Ebay, fees from 1st October

My point was in reference to the experience many have had with couriers posting rods, not anything to do with ebay

    Ebay, fees from 1st October

Yes - no strings attached. They charge for the payment facility but you can't fault the coverage and the prices achieved! Just don't offer to post rods!

    Lidl garlic sausage

Yep - fantastic stuff and a great consistency. No problem with it staying on the hair.
