How much are you prepared to spend…

Ah cool I remember seeing Brian Hankins with some big Savay bream. Didn't he have a massive eel from there too?

Who runs longlife?
Savay held some huge eels (as did Broadwater). I lost a fish at Savay that I’m sure was a very big eel and I’ve caught them on purpose in the past.

I’ve no idea who runs Longlife, my mate got in via Thames Water/Clancy connections.

I'm a PAAS member, rejoined a couple of years after a 6 year hiatus.

Lots of waters local to me in Cheshire and and for a NW and WM based angler then PAAS membership is a no brainer tbh.

But if I had Ringwood and CAC tickets and lived in Hants / Dorset then I wouldn't bother with a PAAS ticket, not even for a tenner!

Is there a PAAS water that you are particularly keen to fish?
Not really Joe, I had hoped to move up to Shropshire but the other half has other Ideas so I'll probably decline now, shame 😏

I'm after a couple of his barbel pins 4 yrs wait so far, if they come to fruition then I'll be happy, if not then I should have brought a lot earlier! 😂
Now, I am extremely interested in Leszek Delag aka Watermole’s reel, although I have no idea how to order from him yet (maybe through vintage fishing tackle forum?) his work is amazing. I would say definitely on par with Chris.

@Terry Harman @Nigel Whittingham - I just randomly came across this thread and thought you may like to see my scoots.

S1: Complete nut and bolt restoration with 197 engine.

S2: Dragged out of a garage in my hometown last summer and back on the road after 54-years. Skelly style with a TV175 engine it. I’ve even got photos of the previous owner on it in 1970 about two roads across from where I currently live !!!

S3: Italian import “Special”. Am going to turn it into a ratty Arthur Francis style racer

Have also got a couple of vintage Vespas too.

That was my last one (‘62 series 2) full nut & bolt. Have given up now as dont really enjoy riding them these days, road condition & traffic speed (or just getting too old!).

Sorry for boring you but just noticed i’ve used same pictures as i used last time (forgot as it was so long ago!)
It’s the only pics i’ve got on my phone 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hi ,

Great thread , and mine has changed slightly , although not realistic now iv retired , but I'd pay big money for a week's session at Rainbow lake , just for the experience to tick off my list . It's fairly unique carp fishing , and not so much for some of the giants that live in it , more about the way people fish for them . My son said I'd hate being stuck in one swim for a week as he knows I'm mobile if I think there are chances in other parts of the lake , but I know I would love it 😁.

I’d pay anything to go on any of my favourite lakes how they were back in the early 80’s through to mid 90’s!
I travelled far & wide mainly after Tench & Bream and loved the solitude and pioneering spirit i felt (even though most had been fished before me obviously!)
Seems like every venue is busy these days and stuffed full of Carp to the detriment of everything else. The only time i come close to this feeling now is mid week sessions on the river although it’s starting to get busier as the years go by.
I know i’m just as much a part of the problem as everyone else that wants to go fishing and be ‘away from it all’ but i do get frustrated at the quality (or lack of it) of the fishing these days unless i’m just turning into a grumpy old git

she is beautiful. Bikes ok too. Am I allowed to say that nowadays? If not, I withdraw my remarks and replace with, I think she is beautiful!

ps, the fella ruins the photo though!
That was the last photo of the day. We’d had really good, sunny weather all day the decided to have one last photo before the rain started and was caught just as i looked up and said “here comes the rain”
Was a great day and consider myself a lucky lad. We’ve known each other since the age of 4, went through both schools together and then met up a few years later so my best mate as well as my missus (we’re 57 now).

well done. 57, that's quite a number, remember Heinz!. Been married that long too! Met the day Kennedy was shot. Always said that was a bad day for everybody! Ha!

@Gavin Burt - Dont want to add to your collection per chance do you?

My late father was a vintage car and bike nut - I've managed to auction off the cars but still have a MINT late 50's Lambretta LD150 - its pretty much concourse condition but has been dormant and garaged for a few years now. Battleship grey / twin stitched and sprung leather seats - totally original etc . . . . . PM me lol

No thanks, i don’t own any now. Never liked the LD’s either tbh. Get rid asap if i were you as the market for them is dying off (literally!). SX & TV’s were going for ridiculous amount's 10-15 years ago but none of the kids want them now. At some point the youngsters might pull their pants up, ditch their hoody’s & get a decent haircut but i wont hold my breath!
