DNA Secret 7 Boilies

Is the secret 7 a similar smell to the old secret agent or is it just coincidental.
Get the smell of fishmeal and peach more than anything else. The old 'Secret Agent' flavour was predominately fenugreek to me and persisted for quite a time......and time....and time.

Thanks,
You couldn't get rid of the smell, I once spilled some flavouring on my trousers... it was indestructable

Hi all
I got sample of baits (shelf life) from DNA Secret 7, SLk and Baitworks, Atlantic heat, Royal marine and Monster red, and did and did the glass test over night. My view was monster red gave out the most flavour / scent / colour which if I was Carp fishing I would probably use!
The DNA Secret 7 and SLK remained quite firm, but to me the best smell and the ones which softened up the best after 12 hours were Atlantic heat and Royal marine! My particular preference was for Royal marine.
I took photos of all of them, and will upload them when i figure out how!
I must say I only use freezer baits so not sure how relevant this is
With any Boilie to get the best out of it, you must stick with it for the whole season if not a couple of years, and a little pre baiting always helps
Regards
Wayne

Interesting stuff Wayne, I was in two minds what boilie to go for from Baitworks, leaning towards the Atlantic Heat, but the Royal Marine sounds good too, so like you sampled the three and will have a play. They are fairly close to me in Cirencester so might take a trip out there, I assume the do counter sales?

Fishmeal and peach? That sounds like the original Premier Baits combo back in the late 80s / early 90s. Absolutely devastating at the time for carp.

Give Mark a call but pretty sure he does, i used to pick up direct from the unit.

Hi All
Thinking of trying DNA Secret 7 Boilies next season, can anyone recommend them / give feedback on them.
Or suggest alternative Boilie. Also looking at Vortex baits, Oxford carp baits, Blake's baits and Big carp baits
I normally use one type of Boilie for a few seasons, so am interested in everyone opinion

Thanks

Wayne
I can personally recommend 3ft twitch baits, caught several fish over 10lb in one season. I make the boilies into cubes and wrapped paste around them every cast.
Prebaiting at the end of each session did help.

Worked well for me on the Trent.

Just ordered Atlantic Heat, noticed their new unit is just behind where we lived in South Cerney. Do you ever have that thought "Why did I move"? Some fantastic Tench fishing; although not quite the same now is it Tim? Bradleys before the Watermark thing was all mine back then 😉

I was a junior member of South Cerney for a few years in the late 80's, Bradley's was brilliant and fishing the windward side of the headland, the tench fishing was something else.

And DNA baits are very good, I use SLK myself but all of the DNA options look worth a go.

Happy days Darren, my fishing gear was very basic back then, I was an impoverished father of three boys and my job was managing the Cirencester Electricity Board shop, which at least gave me every Tuesday off.

Those day's off were put to good use in the summer at Bradley's mostly and the old pump house pegs were the choice pegs. The Tench would cruise around the lake margins in the morning, and were easily intercepted close in on the shelf..

As said the gear was basic, mainly a leger rod with swing tip, the hookbait was bread flake, but it worked and had many a Tench on or around the 8lb mark, back then the record was not much more.

Do you remember the legend the bailiff that was Les Gillman and his able assistant Jack the Jack Russell? He was South Cerney A.C and thought nothing of checking your ticket three times in a session😀
