I know it’s been done many times but not for a while . Please can anyone recommend a strong deep meshed net head . Not the Korum plastic fixing one as mine disintegrated at the weekend !

Korum do the all metal version now with a stronger frame and aluminum spreader. It’s a great spoon net and deep enough to recover good fish.

I've got the Korum full metal one. It's decent enough quality, with a deep mesh. The only downside is that it is fairly large and bulky and more often than not, I now carry a triangular carp net that will fold down into a quiver.
 
+1 for the Drennan Super Specialist nets. (I recently switched from Korum to one of these - much stronger.)

Whatever you buy, I'd avoid latex. It's heavy and causes more drag than regular mesh - you'll notice both when the river is running and you're at the full extension of your handle - and I seriously doubt the claims that they are better for the fish.

I've had one of those nets for over about 15yrs, never used it since the the mesh ripped on a bit of thick grass first time out!
Gardner didn't want to replace the mesh net and provaricated before they sent me a new mesh bag saying it was probably chewed by a mouse whilst I was fishing 🤔....narrh, it wasn't chewed by a mouse lol.

Imo, those net heads are way to big and clumsy even if the mesh was of good quality....jmo of course.

I like latex mesh.
Claims of better for fish I wouldn’t know because I use both types with no fish care issues

However they are a lot better for removing anything that is caught in the mesh. It just falls right out.
Normal mesh and brambles or flying hooks or fish with teeth can be a bloody nightmare sometimes.

I don’t know which Korum net you were referring too but the all metal spoon with the stepped up frame is stronger than both my super specialist nets
I do like the drennan spoons a lot too I have both 26 and 22 in regular use but they will definitely bend in the frame before the Korum one does.
 
Tacklebox specimen net with aluminium block are really good. I got 36 for barbel, and 32 for chub.

I think they are as good as anything available, and a bonus is they have a velcro strap at the bottom of the mesh which can be used to keep the net neat and tidy when packed away.

I have to ask, if the all metal Korum spoon with the 'stepped up frame' is so good, why did you feel the need to modify it?

And by drilling out for the bolts, it looks to me like you weaken the frame at the most critical point.

The screws fall out on this net.
So I replaced them with nuts n bolts.
It hasn’t made it weak because I’ve used small bolts which have filled the holes with steel.

It’s not uncommon on a lot of spoon for the self tappers to work their way loose. Most people just nip them back up and it’s no big deal. It’s caused by the arms flexing in the spreader block.
I’ve had them work lose on my drennan nets too as these are also just self tappers aswell. Seems to be the norm to produce them cheaply.
My solution was just a permanent fix. Most people don’t go to that extent.
