Here's my two youngest, 13 & 9, (very competitive) grandsons. They love the pod, one rod each with alarms and all the bells & whistles. "Rock, Paper, Scissors" determines who has which rod, they pick the bait, and off they go!

Sadly, carp and other larger species with damaged mouths are often prevalent in Barbless only fisheries

The damaged mouth thing is a blight on Angling. It puts me off visiting these fisheries, but well done in highlighting.
To hand over the fishing bug to your family youngsters is a right of passage, my three sons were a delight to tag along. So many memories from carp off the top, chub from small streams Phil's eel and his joining it in a perfect entry into the river, Anthony's , first barbel, and Richard's crazy mirror.
They may not want to go often when growing up , but to show them the delights at a young age means they have the seeds firmly planted.
