One rod

If you could only use one rod on every occasion you went to catch Barbel ,
Which would it be ??? Harrison,Free Spirit,Daiwa etc ?

Free Spirit Hi S SU (which is ~1.75lb) ... no question.

But for trundling meat (and I wouldn't use that stick for anything else) Torrix/11ft/1.75.

Each to their own eh.

Sorry

Depends on the river and water state . Smaller river at normal level, cane every time . Bigger river / further to chuck, Harrison S/U Avon or my trusty Fox XS Barbel duo , raging flood, my battered old Bruce Ashby carp rod . To pick one , it would have to be the Fox. I know, I know ,I didn't really answer the original question properly . It was easier when I was a kid , all I had was an 8ft tank aerial fly rod , that did for everything !
