The world really has gone mad

Yep.
These used to be 8 quid not very long ago at all.
Now you’ll be lucky to find one soooooo...... you’ll pay through the nose when you do.

Not fishing related but just had to put this up
The world really has gone mad
I would suggest anyone with a forgotten record collection to scramble up to the loft etc and dig out that vinyl.

Wow!
One of my biggest regrets is selling my vinyl collection to a mate for £100 and then p***ing it up the wall in a night. Some of them are worth more than that alone now. :(

Still got my vinyls rhys, there's one of those dark side in there, also got a hawkwind 6 fold masters of the universe in there somewhere, they were collectors years ago, and no there not re issues,
Regards

I couldn't afford to buy many records in my teens but there was a shop in Wednesfield that sold records off jukeboxes and demo disks for about 2/0d (10p). Was going through them about 10 years ago and found a demo copy of 'Mirror of Illusion' by Hawkwind, which fetched over £100 on eBay IIRC. Got other demos by US artists (Paul Anka?), but may have to wait for them to die before they're worth much  Next winter I'll have a sort out, maybe :D

eBay madness 😂😂 I’ve got a unused Speedia wide drum deluxe never seen the bank still in the box might wack that on there

Quids in Jim!
I used to buy mine mostly from time machine records in Wolverhampton, amazing how far my £45 YTS wage went in those days!
Had a few originals from 60's/70's, picture disks, coloured vinyl, gatefolds. At least I know the mate who had them still cherishes them. Won't sell them back to me for £100 though!

Max Millwards in Wednesfield was the place to get rarities, limited editions and coloured vinyls,he was a really nice bloke, plus he liked his barbel fishing on the Danery near Bridgnorth. The shop was very close to where I lived, spent a few hours in there talking vinyl and fishing,he sadly passed away a few years ago but I still have a few rock rarities in my collection bought from there :)

THAT was the place ....Millwards!!

Talking of these old 'curio' shops that did a multitude of stuff including second hand tackle, we had one near Stroud in Glos that was a real treat to visit, picked up some good gear in the past and the odd bit of furniture. But the best was a market trader in Tewkesbury that I snaffled up some great condition 5010/6010's and plenty more tackle for bargain prices. Perhaps the best buy was a Drennan Tench and Bream distance rod ...mint for £40, sold on ebay for £120!. Sadly the trader has gone some years ago.

I binned my small number of vinyl LPs when doing a house move. CDs had taken over and you could not buy a record deck at that time so I considered them to have no value. Perhaps the bloke at the local dump was more astute and saved them for himself.
