The BFW Wye Fish in 2003 - Part 4

back - articles

Tom was fishing. No luck even for him. (Message from barbules wife. I have explained to Mike that he needs a rod to even stand a chance of catching anything!)

Noon and the photo shoot. The professional photographer (Silk arranged) never turned up. Yours truly did the honours.

Steve and John were late as usual, but a good meeting of all and sundry.

The Eel watched by Paul4 was starting to draw a crowd (nothing new there?) But he did catch another but also lost a couple.

Liam upped his total to 3. He did have a problem though.

While sleeping the previous night his head had been out of the sleeping bag. The "Mossies" and other creatures of the night had taken a fancy to it. By the morning he looked as if he had gone 5 rounds with Mike Tyson! I won’t put the picture on as we have a few frail readers!

As Saturday evening came "THE BUGLER" returned this time with a "FULL BAND" and the sight of Steve Ralph marching up and down the bank (his days in the RAF coming back to haunt him) had to be seen to be believed!

The totals by Saturday evening,

Tony2canes 11

Steve Ralph 1

John W 1

Liam 3

Howard 2

Andy D 1

JW 2

Tommo 1

The Eel 4

Now after a night in "The Saracens" again, some funny sounds began emanating from Rayo’s tent! Could it have been "Dolly" or "The Biblins Beast" we will never know!

Sunday morning and the last day for most.

Andy had a lie in after a late night session (fishing?),

Liz awoke and after a wander round finally did find somewhere?

The fishing was well to say the least patchy but a few were caught.

Sunday afternoon saw Howard’s BFW BBQ

Attended by quiet a few

nb Rayo sat under the St George Cross.

With plenty of food and drink to go round all had a great time.

As time progressed people began to say their goodbyes and the Biblins once again was left to its uninterrupted slumber.

Even the bugler was quiet (for a while!).

Over 30 barbel were caught over the weekend but numbers don’t count.

It is the friendship and camaraderie that does.

The Meadow as we left it.

Thanks go to all who attended this weekend,
