Hi men,

Well less than a week , so what's on your list if you have been good 😊

And a happy Christmas to our happy band 👍

Hatter

I have a dream list of items in a shared note that randomly for birthdays and Christmas I may or may not see items so will report back 🤣 I did treat my self this year to an 8ft float rod with a spliced in top section and had two lovely pound pound and half perch on today so was mega please when money lets me I’ll try and find a small compact pin for it rather than the fixed spool I have.

I hope every one has a great Xmas and stays safe

I think everyone should have a copy of my book "Reeling Back the Years" (see classifieds) on their list. Unabashed plug. Sorry.
😂😂😂
Merry Christmas to all and Tight Lines for 2024!

If we are doing book reviews then I will plug ‘The fish of a lifetime’ by my fishing mate Matt Harris.

650 pages of fabulous pictures (plus some words) by one of the World’s best angling photographers.

Highly recommended; but so it should be at £99 a copy.

Took a drive out to Future Fishing at Farndon to get my Christmas pressie from my Mum & Stepdad. Drennan Specialist 50" umbrella which will be ideal when fishing from stone steps as it can be supported by two banksticks where it's not feasible to get a central pole in the ground. I was going to pickup a secondhand Nash rucksack they had in the shop for £45 until I came across a discounted Korum transition ruckbag down from £80 to £45. Had to hunt around the store for the umbrella with a very helpful staff member who then came with me to the till and knocked 10% off the whole order so pleased with that. :D Added two Korda Compac Organisers and an EVA spool storage case. Have some rod tip & butt protectors and crampons coming from my daughter for Christmas too.

Me, 2 new reels, new recliner chair, and a heavy water rod, treats to myself, the missus got binned off 10 years ago. 🤣Also got, my recently river virgin Bro, a recliner chair, new rod and reel. So looking forward to our next river outing, hopefully on the Warks Avon, @Andrew Burt.
I'm looking forward to that as well! Some nice barbel and chub coming out ATM. We can sort out a date in March or if you can't wait before the 24th Jan as I'm having my other knee replaced.

Nothing material but I could really do with a health pass from Santa having had Covid, pneumonia, norovirus and to cap it all a slipped disc - all in the last 10 weeks
Certainly makes you appreciate your health and only consolation is conditions round here are pants at the moment

I treated myself to a 14ft Acolyte plus.

Didn't need one but as new at £110 couldn't resist. I'm sure I can break that fine tip if I try hard enough....

Health is everything, fortunately my health is A1 but my wife has much more than her fair share of serious health issues, nothing else matters really !

I sold my silverlite Pro feeder about 4 years ago when recommended to go to guru aventus. Always regretted it but a month or so ago I saw a new one listed on ebay. Bid and bought and showed the rsm yesterday what she had bought me. Chuffed indeed!

Korum graphite brolly for me. My Keenets one from Argos finally gave up the ghost after 19 years and I stumbled across an unused one on eBay for £50. Very happy with it and might buy some storm caps for it if I decide to sit still for longer in a swim than I tend to.

Couple of things I need, a new bib and brace, as mine is now falling to pieces, so might go down the Vass route, I also will need a new chair, as that's in a similar state to the b&b.

Really water proof the vas but does not breath well or at all so sweet and get cold. Esp ones are very good I’m in them now toasty as you like
