Wye next couple of weeks

I’m hopefully getting a couple of days off before the end of the season for a short trip to the Wye.

Can anyone recommend a couple of stretches where I’d have a better chance of catching a barbel, please? I don’t mind paying a bit extra for a WUF day ticket

Hi Dave, personally I think conditions are much more important than a particular stretch. A Ross Town day ticket or Bishopswood will produce just as easily as the WUF beats albeit they should be quieter. Is there any particular area you are heading- Hereford or Ross for example? Both have good tackle shops selling day tickets and can give you decent advice on how the river has been fishing.
