Wychwood MHR brolly Fox super compact

Looking to change my korum brolly , but can't decide on which one of the above to go for. im looking for something that's light , easy to put up and will fit into most quivers. I do like the look of the wychwood mhr 50 compact , but I've not seen one in the flesh . My main concern is the cover from the sides, it looks a tad small and maybe it won't protect you much, but it does come with a 5 year guarantee is only 3kgs and has some nice touches. As for the fox super compact which is slightly heavier , I believe they leak from the centre boss on the mk1 but the ground print is a lot bigger than the wychwood aswell as the price :rolleyes:but does have more cover. has anyone got either of these or seen one on the bank and could help in my choice. I rove quite a bit, and do the odd overnighter so it needs to be stable , rainproof , light, and last the riggers of being put up and down .

Hi there , I have the fox mk1 and its superb. Sat out in an absolute hoolie the other week and it was rock solid. It is very roomy and very well designed. Not noticed any leaks but I haven't been looking particularly. Having said all that it is quite bulky. I leave the groundsheet at home as I only do shortish sessions which helps. I very rarely move once I'm settled so it works for me. I'm chuffed with mine but good luck whatever you choose.
Cheers Simon

Look at new trakker tempest brolly. It's very light folds to nothing and very quick to put up. It's beats the fox compact as I got both

I have had a wychwood solace a few years now and the brolly has been bomb proof. The material is a1 imo. I also had a fox supa compact thinking it was an upgrade, yes a big footprint great locking system which the mhr has now or similar, but the material was seriously thin. Imo have a good look at both first, but i think the mhr would be better quality.

Remember Steve, the real price is what you pay, divided by the number of times you use it (if you're having to justify it to yourself or others) ;)

Got mine 180 with discount code .You get what you pay for. I do lot of nights when eel fishing this is best I use for quick over nighters

I think it's size of a 50 inch brolly not too sure but with all the fancy stuff on outside there is loads of room inside

Steve have you look at the fox specialist brolly ? I use mine on the river in these strong winds after my normal brolly got blown inside out . It was first class

Dean you turned my head on the Trakker Tempest, and after much research I bought one from Hull angling for £160 posted and with the wrap too.:) :)
