Wormery

Well today I got myself a wormery from wormcity.

I opted for the fishing worms (Dendrobaena) instead of just composting worms as I obviously want a ready supply of big juicy worms for bait. On top of having easy access to bait it's a good way to use up left over food scraps instead of adding to landfill, it also gives amazing vermicompost which is great for gardening and it also gives liquid fertiliser in the form of leachate which you dilute with 10 parts water and feed to your plants. I know worms will attract all species of fish not just barbel, but I like having some worms whenever I go fishing as a change of bait if the usual aren't working.

Nice! Couple of tips…keep it out of direct sunlight and check for/remove dead ones a couple of times a week, if left in they can soon spoil the whole wormer; and they particularly love eating cucumber!
