winter rod

Hi Patrick,
It really depends upon the size of river that you're looking to fish.
There is a Mark Tunley built Big River/Floodwater rod up for sale on Facebook for £160 at the mo in excellent condition. Well worth the money if it suits your needs.
Facebook site is BARBEL TACKLE TRADER and the sellers name is Nathan Dixon.

You broke 3 of em Jase, are you sure ???!

I thought he was after a winter rod:confused:.."...WE both broke them in the summer:D

Tips I have now are no problem....and the plus side is I have 2 x swing tips.

I did loose total confidence at the start, but now for the price can't fault them. Would sooner use them for chucking than the unbreakable xflites

I was told they'd only had four returns and 3 of them were yours and "did you know what you were doing" :D:D:D, glad they've sorted you out.

I must admit it was not the best time for me and rods.....

Korum and your mate dribble must admit those tips were wrong uns.

In the angling press have you seen any one sing there praises?

Does Trimble not look in here anymore?:D

And to add, I think I was the field tester for these rods.....everything seemed spot on until you tested the last 5 inch and then I found the floor in the carbon quality.

As you know Simon it was a total **** upon korums part in testing and design

Still like them though

Korum are on a winner with these rods, I may be the only one using them....been fishing TC this year and casting100yds plus on braid, proper bream, roach, tench and carp on them

What about Wychwood barbel rods? I have used both the Rouge and Maximizer twin-top, and thought they were very good rods for the money.

Stephen

P.S Going back a wee bit here.

?

carters don't stock em you have to wait for em to come in ,but from whats going around they wont be there much longer:(

John Osborne wrote a good review of the Xpert rods in the Tenchfishers mag a year or two ago, the 1.75 compared very favourable with his Chimera 2's I seem to recall, the faster action offering more casting accuracy.

I've not read or seen much since about Xperts, but they do look good value, and the understated finish looks classy. I wonder if the fast action puts a lot of prospective buyers off? Many specialist anglers seems to favour through-actioned blanks for reasons I've never quite understood.
