These look really good Ian.
I still reckon i've got another year or two in my excellent Sundridge Bracken which they've now dis-continued :(
The hardest thing i find, is actually finding a shop with a large enough range to try some on, the last time i made the 100 odd mile round trip to Leslies :mad:
 
Just popped to local shop, brought dome drennan series 7 quilted ones, seem really good, time will tell! Thanks for all the ideas;-)

I wash my gear in Nikwax TechWash, a non-detergent washing liquid, but just to make sure I wash it again in Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In Proofing as well (both here). You have to dry it thoroughly in a tumble drier for best results though. My thick padded jacket takes an afternoon in the dryer! Works a treat though, my gear is clean, waterproof and breathable. Use it for my hiking gear as well.
