Where's the path

i posted this in the social board but i think its probably fishy/barbely enough to go on the main board:

I've just been directed to a great web application on another forum, after a quick play it looks like something extremely useful:

"The app's called 'Where's the path?'. It allows you to compare OS maps side by side with Google sat images, search for all kinds of places uses grid references, post codes, place names and even plan routes with elevations and distances."

Absolute genius: http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm

you can even get maps from the 1930's & 40's

That's really good, I know of at least one person on here called Jon who'll love that site. Very useful.

Thanks Ian

just zoomed in to a new fishery which has been under development for at least the last 8 months. It is not showing on the map. Does anyone know of an up to date similar site, i've tried google earth, but that doesn't show the new fishery either. The site is the " old netherley comprehensive school, aka, lee manor high school" in Liverpool.

Derek,

Try: http://www.bing.com/maps/

its ariel views are sometimes more upto date than google just pot look though as to when its been updated.

For those hunting lakes, it might be interesting to cross check the lakes you find with the 1930's & 40's maps ;)
