I make a Victoria sponge in a loaf tin. That way it is the right shape to fit in my holdall .

A relative used to send me a Dundee cake from Fortnum and Masons a couple of times a winter. I then bought various cakes from village hall buy and sell days. I have resorted to making my own since the pandemic. I find cake by the river bank comforting and it's the only time I allow myself to indulge. Dundee cakes in the winter are my favourite.
