what to do?

Hi all, I'm in a bit of a quandry, next Thursday I was supposed to be having a days guiding as a present from my better half, due to unforeseen circumstances this is not going to happen. Now the upside is I still have two days fishing, (wed/thurs), I have a ticket for the bs stretch of the Teme on Wednesday but according to river reports on here, and from what I've been told by someone who fishes it regularly, it seems to be almost devoid of barbel this year, should I give it a go or carry on straight to the Wye, or stay closer to home and go to the Trent?
Any other suggestions welcome. I like to have a couple of days away every year and fish somewhere different, the chance to catch a few would be good, and as very rarely happens in Yorkshire, if I could see/stalk a couple that would be nice!!!
Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated,

You can fish the Trent whenever Leon, if you havent been on the Wye before cast a few lines to the regulars for some info, sure they will help out.
 
Cheers Jon, I was kind of thinking along those lines myself, the Wye seems to be fishing well at the moment

Leon,

As i fish opposite the BS stretch my advice would be have a go on the Wye mate as it is very slow down Bransford at the moment and until we get some extra water to flush the system i am not going to try down there again.
 
Decisions

Dearie me.wot a quandary,trouble is when you arrive at your/our river of
choice,wot bait ta use,caster/ maggot/ lobs/ cheese/luncheon meat/ sausage meat/paste/or boilies.

If your choice is boilie,youve the colour choice probs,do you use white/red/pink/yellow/brown/grey/green or blue.

And when you've chose the colour,youve othe choice probs such as wot
flavour do I use from the 200 different ones on the market.

All you need is a bucket full of feed some 2oz feeders and 8mm pellets, just chuck anywhere you like ( River would be best) and wait for a twitch.

It's soooo boring mind, or you could try the float, far more entertaining, see you down there:)
 
Is there really any need for those puerile responses to a genuine question from a BFW regular? I despair sometimes.

Leon - if you want to stalk and spot barbel I'd go to the teme. If you struggle so what, you'll have had a session after barbel like we never have on the Yorkshire rivers. Go the next day to the Wye. Whatever you do, enjoy it and good luck.

Try the Teme. Never failed to catch on that stretch. If you hit it right no reason why you should not catch a few.

Blimey Graham a bit OTT, nothing wrong with a bit of leg pulling, I am sure there was nothing vindictive meant, and no feelings were hurt.

Of course Graham:rolleyes: But the Teme is not actually fishing at all well at the moment, as suggested the Wye might be a better choice, but if you are down this way....
