We've just hit 1000 registered members!

Hi everyone,

We now have 1000 registered members on this new incarnation of BFW :)

So what do you think now that we're 1000 members down the path. Were the changes we made to the forum a good move, or not? It would be great to hear what people think, both good and bad.

Personally, I'm very happy.

The amount of moderating needed has reduced dramatically.

I've not received a threat of legal action for months...touch wood.

We continue to raise a very healthy sum for our chosen charities.

I'm selling loads of stuff from the BFW Shop to both new and existing members (thank you!).

It feels good to be involved with BFW again.

When things settle down at home again (having a second child is harder than I ever imagined!), I hope to put much more time into fishing and BFW. I'd really like to start offering our registered members some extra benefits and generally improving the site.

Here's to the next 1000 members...

Cheers,

Andy F

Not especially constructive, but a big well done from me! I really enjoy the site and feel the changes have only improved it.

Thanks also to all 999 other like-minded members for making the discussions on this forum infinitely better than anywhere else. I even enjoy reading Paul Boote's contributions! :D (only joking Paul, keep it up).

Cheers,

Stu

Well done Andy on creating a more civilised forum. Certainly there's far less rucks kicking off, however, while there may be 1000 members, only a few of them seem to be posting on here and that does spoil the fun somewhat! I wonder what stops them posting?.... perhaps some blokes just feel happier going under a user name?

In agreement there Chris.:)

Regards the none posters, I guess they're regulated lurkers, all 20.8% of em.:D:D

Congratulations and well deserved. This is a model for others to learn from and its a pleasure to be involved as a member. A great way to keep up to date.

The river reports are second to none and having guys close to the river willingly updating all on current conditions is priceless - and on that note a special mention and thanks from me to Will & Terry in particular over on the Teme thread - nice work guys.

I would echo Lewis's post as I always check the site before heading out for a session.

As for your personal situation Andy trust me it gets easier in about 18 years time :)

Best Regards

Les

Hi Andy,
nothing new here, just wanted to say well done! I think the site is much better now, nobody slagging each other off while hiding behind a username, it's a friendly place to be with lots of help and advice (as my Wye session proved) from lots of people, so thanks from me!!!
Leon

Very well done Andy. Even the replies to Paul Boote's posts are more civilised which is good because he's a very fine angler and pioneer from the past.

Very old Mike

well ,its always a gamble making major changes to established sites ,its all come off rather well ,which must be a testament too all the hard work that went on behind the scenes .1000 members is a great start ,and those who havn't plucked up the courage too post yet ,comme on you know you want too .its a different BFW now ,this is how things should be ,and BFW feels like home again

The Chairman on Sunday

Thought that I'd just let you chaps know that Deirdre and The Girls and the full Beauchamps Corporation Staff (plus Yours Truly) have survived the online journey to the new BFW, negotiating a few very unpleasant earls along the way. We will try to be good, naturally, but, if we are not, be assured that our badness will be conducted in the best possible taste.

Tight Lines and Seasons Greetings to you all.

As ever,

B.B.

...ha ha - how do I follow that :)? Class.

Well done Andy. Best thing for me was finding out that Freeliner had a perfectly normal human being's name!

i don't spend as long as i would like to on here but i enjoy every minute, i have recommended the site to many others & they say they have had a look around & have liked what theyve seen but the odd one or two are put off by the fact that they 'have to' buy something to register.........." hey!-ho!..their loss"
keep up the good work & thankyou..........(i'm sure that thanks goes for a great many others too)

I'm a recently joined member who floated around on the old site and I have to say it's miles better than it ever was. Topics/Posts seem a lot more relevant and informative and I think thats down to the quality of members as well the fact our name is above any comment made.

In regards to paying a small fee or buying something on here; it's a flipping bargain. I've learnt loads of useful tips from people on here and it's fair to say it would take me a hell of a lot more fishing trips and talking to other anglers to gain the same amount of knowledge than I do on here. Plus with the new website being what it is today, I don't have to sift through numerous crappy posts to get the few useful bits of information I'm after.

Congrats on the milestone Andy as well the littleun, a pat on back to ourselves as well because we make it what it is and more importantly tight lines to you all.

Yes indeed a fine forum reminding one of almost Waterlogged times, in some areas......

Many thanks!

As Eldridge Cleaver put it......
