Hi Jon.. thanks - I was the winner of the pair but unfortunately the seller failed to mention in the description that both avon tip sections had suffered breakages and therefore had replacement tip rings, poorly whipped on, and also different lengths to each other!

Missed out on the 3rd as it ended after I won the pair, and before they arrived!! :(

Sounds like a nightmare Darren. I nearly went for them too, I can feel your jubilation on winning then the gut wrenching loss of the rods not being as the seller said and I hope the refund was problem free. They do come up now and again.

Good luck in your quest.
Jon

The Antares Specialist quiver is, in my opinion, a bit light for most targeted barbel work - mine is used exclusively for big roach & chub. The Antares Specialist is much more powerful, and is a great barbel rod for smaller/slower rivers - not so good on heavy leads/feeders or fast flows. Again all my subjective opinion.

My first ever barbel fishing session culminated in a nine-pounder from the Nidd! The member who guested me that day was using an Antares Specialist Quiver and I've been after it ever since. As I was having zero success, he called me over and let me take over not only his swim, but his rod as well. The rest is history as they say. I must agree with Simon though, I did feel a little undergunned at the time, but then again, the power of that barbel came as quite a shock!
