Wanted Shimano Aero Ci4 4000FA reel(s)

Hi.
I'd like to know if any of you out there, have a mint boxed Shimano Aero Ci4 4000FA Reel (gear ratio of 5:8:1) they no longer want?

I know what they sold for, so will consider offering a decent return for one in a mint condition that is boxed, if you have one or two that fits the bill, then pm me. 😊

Cheers guys
Julian

Yet another absolutely superb reel that Shimano sadly discontinued...
Good luck mate.
Yes Dave. I remember when they appeared but couldn't afford them at the time, then forgot about them totally.
So yes if anyone has a couple or one they don't want or need, & thats in mint condition and boxed I'd be happy to hear from you. 😊
I've phoned around loads of shops up and down the country but no luck. 😔

I own two of the standard feeder reels when they first appeared that are keepers,
I believe the ci4 version had standard and high speed models.

There’s two of them available on eBay Julian.

I saw these earlier cheers Richard.

I think the bloke has had a bump on the head.😂

They both have damage in one form or another, albeit minimal cosmetic damage, so cant justify the cost.

But cheers for sharing mate. 👍
Maybe the case but if that’s the going rate for them then it’s unlikely someone on here is going to offer you a boxed mint pair for substantially less money. If I had some to sell I’d offer you them at what I’d expect to earn from selling elsewhere. Unless of course I was desperate for the cash and needed a super quick sale.

i had one of these and had awful trouble with the line going behind the spool.
I've heard people having line problems with the x aero Jon but I've never had that issue with these.
I also have an x aero that I can't say I've had a problem with.
It's all down to bail arm technique with either wind on auto or flicking over manually and a quick look down making sure line is away from bottom of spool before winding on.Windy days don't help matters and makes it even more important.Of course a lot of reels you don't need to do this,The D's or Oc's for example don't have this niggly fault.

Not when I've seen them go for £95 to max £130 sort of prices.
People are entitled to choose whatever prices they want for their goods, dont mean they're going to sell it of course.

If they realistically want a sale then they should do their homework and price accordingly, especially as there's damage associated with it.
No way its worth £225 when they originally cost around 130 brand new & undamaged..

Quick check on ebay and even the non ci4 standard versions are selling at £110-£150+.
The ci4 is very sought after now and sellers know that.
If someone is determined to own one then that's the price they will pay.

What does one of these offer that a stradic ci4 doesnt, or a Transit (sorry Vanford) for that matter?

Unless you are concerned about the small weight difference is there any need to get the Ci4? I bought the standard Aeros a few years back and from what I recall the Ci4 body parts are the only difference but someone might know otherwise? That is definitely the case with my Ci4 5500 XSC's it is the only difference.

The Aero Ci4s (and the Aero Match/Feeder) are quite different to the Stradic Ci4+ (front drag) or Vanford. Neither of the latter feature the oversized spools of the Aeros. I've yet to see a Vanford, but I suspect that, like the Stradic Ci4+, it won't have an anti-reverse switch (the Aeros do).
