Spotted these & wondered if they might be any use? Old but pretty simple to service I would think & probably unbreakable! :

Years ago on a holiday out from Newquay I had a Tope strip the gears on my Shakespeare big multiplier so needed a replacement urgently as I had a wreck trip booked in a few days.
Went to the local Trago mills near Bodmin and found that they have a Penn specialist section selling factory reconditioned reels and they weren't expensive.
Unfortunately they're closed presently but worth keeping an eye on.

Hi Julian
I have had a look at the links but think that they would probably not stand up to the rigours of shark fishing, never mind thank you very much for sharing the information with me it is very much appreciated! ATB Andy

That`s OK - I'm not a saltwater man! It did get me thinking about JAWS however, & I found this article about that huge Penn in the film: https://www.themeateater.com/fish/saltwater/bar-room-banter-would-quints-reel-have-cranked-in-jaws

You are just a bit late Andrew... late last year I sold a pair of what you are wanting 2 rods and 2 reels.....purchased for our Sea Angling club, nobody used them so they went , couldnt have them hanging around gathering dust, , and went quite cheaply as well , a guy from the Channel Islands slapped my wrist for them.

You should be able to find what you want, quite a lot of sea anglers who have their own boats buy such gear and find that shark fishing can be a lot of waiting around for very little return and move it on.

Good luck..

David.

Cheers David such is life, fortunately I am in no hurry and am prepared to wait to get the right equipment. Many thanks Andy

Andy.

Andy. I've started selling my Porbeagle fishing gear. I don't think I'll be using it again. I have a Blue Fox 50 lb class rod if interested. It was made in the 90's and has seen little, if any use, since 2000. It is in very good condition and was only used during my trips down to Cornwall at that time. Also, 12- 0 hooks on rubbing traces with high strength biting wire if interested. All IGFA approved traces. They were made for me by Roxmax (do you remember them?). I recently sold my Daiwa multiplier which completed the outfit (shame, as they were very well made reels).
