Wanted: King Fisher Chub Specialist fishing rod.

new mick very well lived 50 yards from me in our younger days .he had the blanks custom built at harrisons so he had to buy a run of them ,try to contact martin james he may know what happened to the remaining blanks .he designed the rod for martin.
tried to get myself to buy one when i used to visit him

I called up Harrisons, sometime ago (think it was Steve) and asked if he could produce me the blank that was used to build these rods.
But unfortunately, yet understandably he needed a good number of them ordered, to be worthwhile for him to produce them.
Mick Holgate was an absolute gent, and one of the nicest rod builders I had the pleasure in dealing with!

Thanks Gary, I am also wondering where are the remaining blanks, if there are any, but the I don't know how to contact Martin James. Any help here？
 
Hi, read the above and have sent Martin a PM re the rod , I know Martin quite well and fish with him occasionally so hopefully he will either get back to me or answer on here for you Huanzou.

The chances of you finding a kingfisher chub rod are slim.
Mick had to buy 25 blanks off Harrisons to make a run for the blanks
They were all sold he then had a run of 10 more blanks made not all of them were made and sold before he died.
Have made contact today with his best mate who reckons there are still some blanks in his work shop.
He is going to see his wife if they can be purchased. He knows were the spec sheet is for ringing etc.

Spent hours trying to track this lad down this week. I should have retired on Friday he sent a message via a customer at work to see if I had finished that's how I got in contact with him and got his mobile number off customer who had done some work at his house.

Thank you very much Gary, really appreciated. I know it is hard to find this rod, but if there are blanks left and I can buy them, that is good enough for me. Finger crossed.
