Struggled in getting one myself mate . Had to go for a custom build in the end from Mark Tunley as he had just one blank available . Spoke to Free Spirit also and they told me given the shortage of carbon available they're having to put what they have in to the more popular blanks . Goodluck looking Anthony , they are scarce .

Hello Anthony,

Can’t say I have seen a free spirit that you are looking for but I can vouch for the cadence 14 ft no3, bought one recently and have used it for big chub on the swale , in the 4 to 6 lb bracket , quite a few , 5 plus . The action is superb, I use 5 lb line but it is rated to 8 lb, Problem may be you can’t see them in the shops !
 
Ive got the 15' Marksman and the Cadence 14' no.3, both are great rods but the Marksman is the more powerful of the two and better for barbel imo. The Cadence is much lighter though and ideal for large chub.

Nick, I've been put off by the comments over the years of the weight of this rod, although to be honest, I've never handled one. I have used a FS rod and Cadence 15ft #2 (the latter is a lot cheaper, has a faster action but handled a big '8' quite nicely), both of which are lighter. Personally I wouldn't want anything that felt heavier than these.

I've just tried a Greys Gtec 15' float rod and whilst I failed to catch a fish, it looked to have enough power in it when playing a snag on several occasions.:rolleyes:
 
If you do get the Hardy they are light and powerful.
.I have 2 x 14ft and a joy

The old rod I believe much heavier.

I've just tried a Greys Gtec 15' float rod and whilst I failed to catch a fish, it looked to have enough power in it when playing a snag on several occasions.:rolleyes:

I have a Harrison 13 foot Su in my armory and while it’s a lovely made thing you are dead right to give it a swerve. It’s long overdue an update and there are better more capable tools out there nowadays off the peg regarding float rods. Specialist rods….. another thing entirely and Harrison imo can’t be bettered.
 
I know it's 2 years late but there is one now on eBay new at 250. Doesn't seem dear, but it's probably the earlier model. Not sure why it's not selling
 
Yeah looking at the bag that’s the very first era of them.
After awhile they started putting them in a baggy completely unpadded sleeve with a Velcro thing you rapped round it 3 times. I have one and it’s total crap (bag not rod)
The new Version come with dedicated rod bags now. No sleeves for taking it made up. 🤦‍♂️

£250 is cheap but now you’ve got these new rods and in many ways they are better.

Handle, reelseat, weight all seem to be vastly improved again.

Not a rod for me Richard just wondered. Just sat down on the bank for only third time this yr. Don't normally fish weekends, . Nice to be back! Might be able to do a deal on the 15 if it's of any interest to anyone.
