Wanted Drennan series 7 1.25 Avon/ quiver

Hi do you want this for chub fishing i dont have a drennan rod but may be able to help using shimano technium rods got a pair12ft 1.25 tc perfect chub rods pm me.peter
 
Thanks for the reply Peter but it’s the series 7s I’m after. I already have a pair but have managed to snap both the Avon top sections so after replacements ideally
 
Neil can a local tackle shop get you a pair from drennan. You can't deal with Drennan directly and to find a pair of second hand ones sounds a bit of a long shot. good luck either way.

Hi Stephen unfortunately not, the series 7 rods have been discontinued for quite a while now.
 
I’m watching this thread with interest, I’ve got two broken top sections I’m looking to replace as well :)

Haha to be fair I don’t think the quality was amazing on the series 7s I’ve also got a pair of the much older super specialist duos which have had much more use and no broken tips … still, keeping an eye out

I can’t blame the breakages on the quality of the rods - one was broken when I bought it and the other was totally my fault!
 
Just an FYI, I broke the avon section of my Series 7 last year. I rang Drennan who confirmed that spare tips were available but I would have to go through a tackle shop to get one. I got in touch with my local tackle shop, who did the necessary, and a week or so later I went to pick it up.

I’m suprised about that David but will definitely give it a try, thanks! How much did they charge for a tip section?

It was supposedly common on the acolyte too. People breaking tips and blaming it on quality. The reality is I’d say in most cases a moment of rough handling with a very delicate piece of equipment.
You don’t get second chances with float rod tips and people have gotta be careful with them
At least you recognized that you broke it yourself. A lot of people blame the rod

Hi Dave just to let you know my local tackle shop has ordered me 2 top Avon sections for my series 7. They have a small amount of them left so give it a go.

I’d of done exactly the same thing Neil to be fair. I certainly wouldn’t of thought Drennan to hold spares that old and therefore not considered asking.
I’m pleased you’ve got it sorted. The series 7 rods are great.
