Hi daniel hsve you found the diawa sleeve yet if not i have one in the loft 3piece rod ill just need to make a pattern at wk end then you could have mine.
Thank you I have also pmd you about the other thing you messaged about

Hi Daniel, if Alex or Peter can,t sort you out, i have a 3 piece 12ft sleeve you can have. Needs a wash 😂 and a couple of new ties attached. But its yours for free if you want it. 👍

If it’s what I think it is (could well be wrong) it’s not a 3 equal piece 11 ft rod bag but a 2 equal piece rod with an 18 inch but section.
Typical old school diawa Avon arrangement I’m going to guess.
Daniel it would really help a lot if you actually gave the rod identification up because if it’s a power mesh or Avon type rod although it’s 3 piece it won’t fit in a 12ft or 13ft rod bag designed for 3 equal pieces.
If it is 3 equal pieces then no problem.
Daiwa stitched up the 3rd slot on a lot of their rod bags to accommodate the short butt section

What’s the rod Dan?

Evening gents,

It’s a 3 piece Avon power mesh 11 foot and after a bag for it to fit in currently it’s in an 11 foot tatty green bag. And would like to try and get an old school original as I can for it.

I lucked out in a tackle shop traded in prob sometime ago it was a bit unloved put saw some potential, I’ve spent the last couple of days removing all the varnish off the cork handle that was smothered all over it, it was a little sloppy on the handle end joint so a minor tweek and re whip. The eyes were a little covered in crap but are almost back to a good condition. A polish up tomorrow should have it at least photo worthy to show you ☺️.

Just gone to all that effort it be nice to have one of the dust bags to go with it.

I’m over joyed with it now to be fair, and can’t wait to use it. Just got to match it up with a nice reel of the period and get many more years of enjoyment out of it.

That’s the one, I got the 12 foot Dave had on classifieds and has that exact same lay out 18 inc or so stitched up section so you don’t lose the handle on the other 5od foot 🤣.

Is it pms Avon or later pmx model? Both are great rods.

I may have this bag somewhere, but not 100% sure, will let you if I can find it.

Thank you 😊 if you do let me know I’ll sort something out with you.

Yeah I thought that might be the case.
It won’t fit in a rod bag designed for 3 equal sections unless that bag is for a 15ft rod or longer.
It will just be poking out the top.
If you can’t get the original, your best bet is to get a 2 section bag from one of the older daiwa carp rods or something like that and put 2 sections together in one of the sleeves

So, lets get this right. your rod is 11ft long, it has a butt section of 18 inches. or, 1 and a half ft long. So the other 2 sections are 4.75 ft long. so no good for a 4ft rod sleeve. The sleeve needs to be 4.75 ft or longer. ?

You’re correct, it’s taken me a couple of days of love and a shit load of varnish of the cork handle should have took before pics ! But stupidly didn’t. When I say it was a gamble and looked a bit of dog I mean it.

Glad how it’s come out and have a lovely rod a new lease of life ready for battle.
