Wanted 15 ft barbel rod for floodwater fishing

Hello , looking for the above . I know fox did the 2.75 lb tc babel duo ,as I already have a couple of 12ft versions . But any other 15ft rod would be considered.

I think you’d be better off just setting the rod up to sit higher in the pod or on the rests if it’s about keeping more line out of the water.

I can’t see that sort of length being anything but a hindrance when it comes to playing a fish. Especially a big one in a swollen river.

No other company followed suit on this one after the foxs short term availability on it and for good reason I’d say.

I've never encountered a 15' barbel rod other than the Fox Duo-Lite Extreme (ARD022). These rarely come up for sale. When they do, they usually sell for daft money.

The only vaguely comparable rods I've come across are Shimano extra long/extra heavy feeder rods. These aren't exactly common either but were produced in various guises. I have a Beastmaster Multi Range Feeder XXHL (extra extra heavy long) which is 15/16', has a casting weight of 200g and the quiver tips are 4, 5 and 6oz. I was talking to someone just last week who had a slightly different Technium version.

The reason I am after one is for situations where any river is well up and you are effectively fishing over the bankside vegetation that would normally be above the surface , so would be just casting past where the river edge is in normal conditions. Would think it would be the fox 15 ft , as need the normal tip , wouldn’t use a quivertip as you are losing part of the length of the rod with a quivertip.

Apart from the Fox 15ft, there was only one other i know of and that was a Harrison prototype... and only a handful were ever made.

I have for sale an old Shimano Nexave 14ft extra heavy feeder rod complete with all tips, its very capable, not mint but no bent rings and works perfectly well. Yours for £40. I just don't use it.

Thanks for the offer Kevin , but think I need the fox 15 ft to suit my needs, there are 2 being advertised on the bay for £400 the pair , they do look immaculate but a bit too far for me they’re in Bakewell , Derbyshire. Really I just need one , but am prepared to wait. 🤓
