Upstreaming With A Back Lead???

Hi John,

You clip the back lead on and drop it down before the line is fully tightened, and then carefully tighten up to it.

Be aware however, that it is not possible to use this method where there is any heavey weed or in fact any structure at all between you and your rig. Obviously, if you drop your back lead down in those circumstances, it or your line...or both... will become entangled, and you will end up in a world of trouble when/if you get a bite...not that you will be aware of any bites if you drop the lead into any serious crud :D

The method has it's uses John, but not I think in many swims on the Colne :D

Cheers, Dave.

it can be right awkward in a tight swim, i prefer direct contact myself, all to their own.

Hiya David,

Yes i realise the dangers involved by getting the backlead snagged up in week etc but there are a few swims on my bit of the colne where the method would work ok plus it would allow you to pin more line down than if you were using a semi fixed back lead..

Back Lead

Hi you can use a solar clip which is like the enterprise safe lead clip, but has a crook to attache to the line:eek:
