trudex and rapidex

Hi, I know that the rapidex has a built in line gaurd but is the spool width between the plates the same as the trudex and are there any other differences between the two, cheers

The Trudex, though sold originally as something of a less classy reel than the Rapidex, is rather clunkier and more durable - and none the worse for it. Trudexes I have owned in the past have had their lineguards removed (and safely stored), so that I could use the reel for Wallis Casting, and then used for all sorts of stuff, including trotting for big, estuary bass and lighter legering for barbel. Don't use a Trudex these days, but somehow never got shot of the one in mint condition that once came my way for £2.
