But he seemed to just hook it without fiddling which is not the way of meat. I didn't see any close ups etc, and he didn't mention the hook bait, did he? IF it was the small pellet it would be ground-breaking because they really seem to catch punters not fish 😐.

Neil, 3mins 25secs into the video Nic says he will be using cubes of meat as hookbait for the session! Mystery solved and obviously he has found a quick way of putting it on the hook!
 
After years of saying I would do it, I finally got round to trotting the Wye. I used a 4g Korum flat top speci-float (good for those with dodgy eyesight!) an olivette and cubes of luncheon meat. No barbel but lots of chub/chublets. But the best thing about it was its FUN! I loved it. Don't get me wrong, fishing is my passion but watching a rod tip isn't quite as interesting as seeing a red tipped float dip under!
I managed to find some fairly fast water just as it approached some rapids and all the fish were taken in a small area, halfway across.
