Trotting on middle Wye

I have booked at stay at the Red Lion later this year and am planning to give trotting a go for the first time as I usually only leger.

Any advice especially in respect of terminal tackle and baits would be appreciated.

I normally use 10-12lb line for legering but would 6-8lb be in the right ball park for trotting and would a floating line be preferable?

I use Braid for trotting it floats and the x8 or x9 are very reliable 30lb braid is the thickness of 5lb maxima.
