I remember paying £20 for my first one back in the 90's. I then bought another about 15 years on just in case it broke, its unused. Yes very heavy but what other landing net pole lasts 20+ years of being trod on and abused. Sometimes you need to sacrifice weight for reliability, I will never pack up with it broken.

There are a few identical extending poles around, with exactly the same design, maybe they were all just made abroad and rebadged to suit.

I have one, yes they are a bit weighty, but will not break and they are totally reliable.

Maybe produced by Conoflex? My Conoflex is so old I can't remember when I got it but still 100% serviceable. It has also done duty on various Heath Robinson household `reaching` jobs!
