I can't believe Trefor's not going, it wont be the same without him holding court in the corner. Someone must have really ****ed him off.

Just received an email from Barbel society from the Facebook website. He is not attending due to a holiday apparently.

As a founder member this was a date which was always etched indelibly into Tref's diary.
In years past he would never have missed the show and the chance to sell some gear and guiding days. Sign of the times I suppose.

He said he would of loved to be there but is off fishing in spain.
gutted I cant make the show tomorrow.
fancy a new barbel rod.
nearly got tempted by trefs yesterday, one day, when funds allow maybe
and Matt as far as I know, he doesnt sell online!

Yeah I've been around him for the last 4 or 5 years or so, and I think [Can't speak on his behalf though!!] he's pretty disappointed on how a lot of the angling 'problems' are not being tackled directly, and every branch of our angling community not being able to agree on the basic fundamentals to get things moving in the right direction as one!......indeed signs of the times.

However a REALLY nice bloke to fish alongside, but don't let him take your missus off Roach spotting.....YES Roach spotting, and leave you in a so called barbel swim, for what seemed an age......The smooth talking greyed haired git, if my wife was a Barbel he would have 'Whacked' her I'm sure!:D:D

I love him!!

Lol, And she wouldn't be the first either.....Allegedly.

Yes. It's been a few years since I last spoke with Trefor (buying a copy of his book), but I am sure, like me, despite no-shows at shows now, he is still fishing highly effectively (and, I very much hope, enjoyably) and, especially, still has a life (quite important, the latter).
