Top 3 most picturesque places to barbel fish.

I'm looking to get a couple or three day trips in September and I'm looking to try some new rivers in picturesque locations. I have fished the Wye quite a bit so some recommendations for alternative venues would be appreciated.
Post up your top 3 locations.
 
Only one suggestion from me as I'm not too well travelled, but I find the tidal trent strangely picturesque, in a desolate kind of way. Once your away from the crowds. Not sure if that stems from my first love of big pit carping, but away from the heavily fished areas I've yet to find a more relaxing place to be other than the fore mentioned wye.
 
If you are prepared to walk away from the 'Carpark Swims' The Upper Benyons is a lovely place to fish.........
 
clive you wont get more picturesque than "the old mill" just google it in for location ect, cultered lawns, great weir, you can evven get a beer ect at the bar, good parking, good anglers toilet/washroom and good fish

Would say the Teme , possibly higher up , or another vote for the Kennet , especially if you can cadge a guest ticket for a day on the Wasing estate beats ( not a member ), but upper and lower Benyons is nice .

The Ribble is very picturesque, but day ticket venues are pretty thin on the ground. The Kennet is definitely up there.

Their is something quite scenic about the barrenness when your out of way on tidal,

The doves a very scenic river but not sure if day tickets are available
 
Although I hate to say it, the Yorkshire (curse and spit) rivers have got to be at the top of the list!!
 
Hmmmmmm as I suspected Yorkshire better get the immunisations sorted.

The Trent upstream of Shardlow is beautiful as is the Dove. Some lovely stretches of the Severn and the Hants Avon at Bisterne
 
Hi men,

Sitting under the Victorian rail bridge at Arley takes some beating . We had one of the most atmospherical days barbel fishing there . A broken rod , barbel rolling all over the river , smoke from the steam engine rolling into the swim with the shrill tweet !, biblical thunder lightning , rained so hard the river rose pushing us back into the trees , when it cleared loads of buzzards over head , and quiet a few times the rod took off with Sue grabbing it one handed !, great times .

Heritage Locations - Victoria Bridge, Arley

Looks a nice spot that Mark. :)
 
They don't call Yorkshire God's Country for nothing, and we don't charge silly prices for daytickets either.

Wharfe around Tadcaster is stunning, £2.50.

Some nice stretches of the Swale aswell for a deep sea diver.
