Too late for Tench?

Wondered if it was worth trying for some tench on my local lake. It's a hard water with some big bream & tench & I know april is always a popular time of year but wondered if it was worth a shot still?

Bit of a tench novice so any help would be much appreciated!

Definitely worth trying, most tench waters will continue to produce until the frosts come, and even beyond that!

Some of the best tench fishing I ever had on Thames Valley pits has been at the end of Sept and the beginning of October.
Frimley pits in particular always produced the goods.

best tench i ever caught was in middle of a freezing cold night with snow everywhere, i was carp fishing but that fish was most welcome and just to cream it off scrapped like a champion:)
