Tony Miles

As I said on a thread not too long ago I take a deep breath now when I see a post with someones name on and again its sad news

I read probably all of Tonys books on barbel and other species I really enjoyed his writing and descriptions of his fishing.

My condolences to his family.
RIP Tony Miles

Very Sad news.
He certainly was an inspiration and font of knowledge to many.
Condolences to the family and friends.

Tony's books have been on my bookshelf since I brought Top Ten in '83 which included his chapter on perch and have been on my Christmas list ever since.
This is indeed sad news,...sincere condolences to his family and friends.

His memory lives on in the way many of us approach our angling today. A real inspiration who will be sorely missed. RIP Tony.

I was fishing the Test yesterday when my companion received a text containing the news of Tony's death. I'd just had a PB grayling and the sad news took the shine of the rest of the day.

For me the name Tony Miles was synonymous with big chub, and for me, 'My Way with Chub' is one of the best, if not THE best, book on chub angling.

RIP.

Sad news

I was reading 'Elite Barbel' earlier this evening before I heard this sad news. Condolences to his family, he was an inspirational writer, one of the very best for transporting you to the riverside. R.I.P Tony.

Very sad news indeed. Herd of Tony's passing through social media and felt the need to post here as although I never met him in person he taught me so much from his writing. 2016 claims another legend.

Tony Miles was, and is, an inspiration to the specialist angler. Always old school but ever willing to exploit or invent new methods and tactics. His books are a joy to read. Sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the angling world.

Just hearing of this as i don't check in very often.

RIP Tony, we met only once very briefly but through your books and articles I learn't a huge amount and reread many of them frequently. You will be sadly missed. Condolences to the family
