Hi Chris and Rich.

I did think about the results, and argued with myself both sides of the coin as you both highlighted, and came up with it as a possible fair reflection of the membership.

Well actually I thought the non posters might be a tad higher percentage wise. BUT of course only a guess.

What was interesting was the number of posters who thought giving information, however scarce, might affect their and others fishing enjoyment.

An excellent thread with a high standard of contributions.

The club waters I fish have total publicity bans, which obviously precludes any catch reports.

I did not tell anyone of my largest barbel for a year and have only divulged significant catches to friends.

Having said that I am always prepared to offer help and advice to fellow members on the bank and have made some good friends via BFW.

The only exception is with regards to the fabulous River Pinn and its Democracy Fishery!

As ever,

Hugo

No it doesn't! It merely prevents one from naming the stretch said catch came from. I'd wager 95% of the catch reports on this years Ribble thread have come from club stretches with a total publicity ban. ;)

The simple guide to posting catch reports is:

1. Don't name the stretch
2. Don't post pictures with easily identified backgrounds in

That's it really! No harm done.

Good point, but as a committee member of RTWAS, see Medway thread, any catch reports would clearly be from that club's stretches.

Actually the Medway thread used to be an absolute hoot!
