Terrible sight

Disgusting!!!! How can they possibly be anglers????? Doesnt it look great for the rest of us:mad:

I just hope the culprit is a regular on the fishery, even better its his favourite water...... And when he sees a population explosion of Jacks, he'll dwell on the stupidity of their actions, very doubtful though!!:(:(:(

anti social behavior on the waterways, come to the banks of the colne, plenty of stupid stuff i have witnessed.
now i can see this photo on PETAS website.NICE,THX, &$&%$&!!!

Whilst I've never seen something so brazen before, I'm not surprised and wouldn't be so quick to blame "eastern Europeans". I've encountered plenty of anglers, of all kinds, over the years that would cheerfully knock a pike on the head, given half a chance. Things have changed over time but if you believe that every one of the pike killers from years past have changed their attitude, you're only kidding yourself. They may not be vocal any longer, they now know that they are in the minority and would be castigated for their views should they voice them. However, they still retain those views.

Same goes for the badger baiters, hare coursers etc etc. They are still out there if you know where to look. Perversely, it's often urban areas where such folks come from:confused:. They've not changed one jot despite knowing that the vast majority and the law are against them.

EE'S wouldn't do that, they would eat it.
To right they would, to me it's a so called angler who thinks he is doing himself and his fellow anglers a favour. Used to see lot's of it around my neck of the woods but thankfully most of the old stuck in their ways types have now died.

it could of been alot of things, a disgruntled member or former, it could of got caught and died due to poor handling and kids fished it out, it could of been dead before this happened. i prefer it to be eaten than this, for sure, a waste.
as for the swan, 1 and 1 don't make 3.

Who ever it was, I'd like to see them hanging from the sign in the same manner.
Same goes for those that killed the swans.
Mindless cruelty to animals is just one step away from mindless cruelty to people in my opinion.

Don't get too carried away. Where's evidence that anyone was cruel to the pike. Killing something, even if it is an unnecessary death, isn't necessarily cruel. Chucking bricks at swans is a different matter.

It was more in reference to the swans to be fair, but yes your right, the pike could have died naturally or by accident. Still don't see the necessity of hanging it from the sign like that.

I wasn't trying to suggest either. I doubt that it did die a natural death. Only pointing out that killing something isn't necessarily cruel. In the case of the pike, pointless, stupid, etc. But not necessarily cruel.;)

maybe the swan was killed for same reason and couldn,t be retreived
i cant see anyone risking their permit to carry out these sickening ects.

who knows what go's through some people's minds, I've heard reports of anglers kicking carp like footballs back into commercial fisheries.
