Suitable Rod For Tight Swims

John Hasler

Senior Member
Hi does anyone have any suggestions for s suitable rod for tight swims where a 10 or 11ft rod is to long. I'm thinking maybe a 10 to 40 gram spinning rod?

I thought of that and have a 10ft 1 3/4lb one, but I must admit it would be long gone on ebay if i could be bothered to go and see how much the postage would cost. Curently its in my garage gathering dust. :)

I can vouch for the Nash Scope in 2Ib tc being a great stalking rod...although not tried on the river for barbel yet...but certainly tames hard fighting carp in tight swims. The Scopes are in a different league to the Dwarfs...but I have also recently seen a Peregrine 10ft stalker on the bank and that again is a different class and now on my wanted list!

Free spirit 6ft margin stalker ,in a class of its own ,used with a centre pin you will stop anything they you may encounter whilst barbel fishing ,can't fault the rod.
