Sonik SK3 Specialist Tri -Tip

Now since its release some months ago has anyone had a look at these, stocked or bought one?

My mate is considering it as he does not want a huge collection of rods......strange:D

My argument was that you would find that if it was well built you would get 2 tips that work well in the configurations (1.5, 1.75 & 2lb) TC.

I am fully aware of the out of production Berkley Tri-tip F1 that was pretty well received, in fact I bought the MF1 1.5 TC avon with quivers as a multi tasker and it's a great bit of kit, not sure about the blingy reel seat though.

I appreciate any feedback from you all again so soon after my question the other day about flood water rods.

Cheers

Adam

Adam,
as you've got no other feedback I'll give you what little I know. I saw the production samples at a trade show last year. Had a good yack with the Sonik fellas too. At that time they didn't know what the RRP was going to be and I've yet to see them for sale. What I can say is that the samples seemed pretty good from the limited impression you can get from a waggle. It reminded me very much of the original Greys Prodigy barbel rod. It wasn't really possible to tell if there was a blindingly obvious candidate for an ideal tip and two much less suited. I'd guess that will probably be the case but it wasn't glaringly obvious.

Thanks Chris

If it is to be compared with the original prodigy, can't be too bad, I guess that must be because half the team from Sonik were at one point at Hardy & Greys.

All I can find them on is ebay hmmm, wonder why the trade haven't picked them up.

I think that is the problem, doesn't seem to be many stocking it to physically waggle about, I think a call to Sonik might help with stockists.
