I have a new, unused and boxed Aero XR C5000 for sale. Spare spool (no box for that) and minus spool reducer unfortunately (I’ve never had it).

Hi Alan, I've been thinking of getting one of these reels but haven't seen them in the flesh, only the smaller sizes. Is the spool diameter the same as the old 5000 size baitrunners?

I don’t know. My fixed spool match reels are all daiwa.

I can't lay my hands on my Baitrunner Aero GTE-C 5000s at the moment, but almost definitely not. I'm reasonably confident that the spools of the old style 5000 Baitrunners will not be as large as the 54mm diameter of the Aero XR C5000. My memory is entirely unreliable, but I suspect that a 5000 Baitrunner spool will fall somewhere between 45 and 50mm.

I'm sure someone on here will have a 5000 GTE, GTE-B or GTE-C to hand. As far as I recall, they all shared the same spool dimensions. Whether they look at a sales section thread, about a dissimilar reel, is another matter entirely.

Thanks Chris, was hoping they were slightly larger, I have some old 5010's so I can measure them.

The spools on the 5010 are push button, as the reel has a rear drag. The XR C5000 looks to be a front drag, so I'd say they are incompatible even if they were the same size.

Yes I realise that, just wanted to know the spool size and was using the 5010 baitrunner as a comparison as I have them.
